Popcorn may only seem like a delicious snack for the cinema and cosy nights in front of the TV but actually, it makes a perfect snack anytime! I eat popcorn as a healthy alternative to crisps as it’s satisfying, low in calories and high in fibre. The team behind Propercorn sent me a huge box of their popcorn last week and to say I was over the moon was an understatement. I used to buy a pack of Propercorn almost every day, so to have a box of 24 will definitely keep me going for a few weeks! Probably. Maybe. I’m rather greedy!
There are six fabulous varieties, which range from savoury to sweet. I’ve tried most of them before but I was excited to try the rest. I’ve reviewed all of them for you below:
Sweet ginger & orange
I love ginger so I was looking forward to trying these. The taste is sweet and fragrant. To be honest, I wasn’t sure about the addition of orange but it didn’t put me off them. Instead of reaching for a biscuit, try these. Lovely!
Sour Cream & chive
These are seasoned with a blend of sour cream and chives with a dollop of crème fraîche. Plus, extra roasted onions add a greater depth of flavour. I thought this particular variety was extremely tasty and definitely one to stock up on – they’re hard to stop munching!
Lightly sea salted
I prefer savoury popcorn over sweet so I knew that I was going to like this flavour. These kernels have been popped with a little oil and sea salt and nothing else so they’re ideal if your tastes are more simple. They aren’t too salty either making them an ideal low calorie snack.
Sweet coconut & vanilla
Sprinkled with a blend of fresh coconut and Madagascan vanilla, these are the ultimate, uplifting treat. Excellent if you’re trying to cut down on sugary treats but need a sweet fix!
Sweet & Salty
Quite possibly my favourite flavour along with the sour cream & chive. These are dusted with Propercorn’s signature blend of sea salt and brown sugar for an irresistible golden coating. Divine!
Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomato
Seasoned with Worcester Sauce, with a hit of chilli for a fiery kick, these are yummy but a bit too spicy for me. If hot snacks are for you, give this variety a go!
