Manomasa tortilla chips

Even though I eat healthily most of the time, I find it hard to resist crisps. I don’t like sweets and I’m not fussed on chocolate but I rarely say no to crisps, especially tortilla chips. Delish!

Manomasa, an premium brand of tortillas sent me a wonderful package of their range. Each variety of Manomasa tortilla chips has a distinctive shape (designed for snacking, scooping or dipping), texture (using super-seeds, such as sunflower, linseed and caraway for extra depth and bite) and exciting flavour combinations for a unique snacking experience.

Versatile and tasty snacking!

White Cheddar

A classic chip with a tang of creamy White Cheddar, a sprinkling of Cilantro. A  rustic, but irresistible crumbly chip. Golden linseeds add a gentle bite.

Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper

A seed-studded chip with the subtle taste of onion and garlic, seasoned with a pinch of salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Poppy, sunflower, linseed and the distinctive warmth of caraway seeds lend a further depth of flavour and texture.

Chipotle & Lime

This chip is a delicious blend of Guajillo chilli and sweet red bell peppers, finished with rich, smoky chipotle chilli and the fresh zing of lime. The chips are then tumbled through sunflower oil for a crisp base, the addition of ‘pepito’ pumpkin seeds gives extra crunch to each bite.

Manchego & Green Olive

This rectangular chip designed for dipping is layered with juicy Mediterranean olives, spicy pimiento and tangy Manchego cheese made in the La Mancha region of Spain.  The cheese is grated, melted and slow dried to allow the flavours to stay sharp and remain full of character.

Tomatillo Salsa

This grain-studded chip is shaped in a large traditional Mexican triangle and is made using a delicious mix of fruity Peruvian Amarillo chilli, a crunch of red and white quinoa grains all blended with tingling Tomatillo salsa.

I enjoyed them all but my favourite was the white cheddar and chipotle and lime flavours – they would be perfect for snacking in front of TV or as a starter before a Mexican-themed dinner!

Manomasa chips are available from Waitrose, Ocado, Whole Foods Market, Fortnum & Mason and independent delis and farm-shops, RRP £2.00 (per 160g bag).
