15 important life lessons that I’ve learned

When I’m not talking about my latest Zara buys, lipstick and food, I like to pass on advice where I can. Not only to help others but also because it helps me realise what I’ve learned in life so far. I hope you can relate to some of these life lessons.

1. Don’t let anyone hold you back. Listen to other peoples’ opinions but don’t let them control your actions. It’s your life and no one else’s.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
4. Burn the candles; use the nice sheets; wear your expensive perfume. Don’t save it for a special occasion.
5. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait until old age.
6. Look after your body and mind. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.
7. Stick up for what you believe in and more importantly, stick up for yourself.
8. There is no simple path to success but you will get there if you keep trying.
9. Have faith in your own abilities. Tell yourself that you can do it and you will.
10. Keep striving to be better but know when to be content with what you already have.
11. Make family your number one priority, if it already isn’t.
12. Materialistic things will never compare to priceless memories.
13. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
14. “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” – My dad used to say this quote to me by Benjamin Franklin when I was studying for exams and it’s around stuck with me ever since.
15. Treat people like they treat you. I always used to believe in treating people how you would want to be treated but after years of having that mentality, I realised that not everyone has the same way of thinking. I’m not saying to treat people badly because they do to you but don’t go out of your way to be nice to someone when they don’t show you the same courteousness.

Do you agree with any of these? Do you disagree? Let me know what you think!

I absolutely agree with number 4! Wear the nice clothes and jewellery and don’t wait for special occasions because they may be quite rare occurrences. Enjoy every day!! And number 10 as well! Thanks for sharing a great post! x x

So pleased that you liked the post Bridget – thank you for reading! I’m glad you agree with a few. Life is definitely too short not to wear your best clothes/jewellery etc! Hope all is well with you. :)
