Since the weather is still fairly mild, I’m still milking skirts and bare legs as much as possible before I give in to tights and trousers full-time. I wore this outfit on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Since I didn’t know exactly what I’d be doing until the day itself, I wanted an ensemble that would suit any day or night activities from shopping to afternoon tea to cocktails in a swanky bar.

Jumper, New Look
Skirt & bag, ASOS
Shoes, Kurt Geiger
Sunglasses, H&M
The ASOS red skirt is suede (of course!) with a great A-line shape. It’s perfect for day to night wear as it’s comfortable to wear shopping but also sassy enough for an evening of music and martinis. It’s also available in turquoise but I felt that this burned red shade would be more appropriate and wearable at this time of year. I haven’t really worn turquoise since my teens anyway!
If I had to choose the one piece from my wardrobe that gets endless wear, it’s a black leather biker jacket. They are super versatile and look effortlessly cool all year round – I’ve got three including this one from French Connection. I love the biker style as well as the pin buckle belt. It’s edgy without even trying! I’d really recommend buying one if you don’t have one already, it will last you ages.

Now for my favourite part of the look: the bag. I adore the patchwork design and the colours are ideal for autumn. The chain makes it easy for me to wear out and about in the day but I can easily tuck the chain into the main compartment if I fancied a clutch style for a night out. I can see me wearing it to jazz up a plain black dress!

Thank you Olga – very kind of you to say. The skirt is a size 6 but I have to say that it was quite roomy on me so I’d be tempted to buy a size smaller next time or go for petite rather than regular sizing. Thanks for reading! :)
Thanks for answering Georgia. I always have this dilemma – 6 or 4. So thank you so much for your tip. Good luck!
