Want to look hot despite the cold? Then read on…
1. Invest in a decent coat
A good coat will be invaluable when the temperature drops. Think quality over price, choose a classic cut and go for a practical colour. For an failsafe-look, pick black, camel or grey in tailored styles for versatile wear right into the spring. If you only buy one item this season, make it a coat.
2. The colour to be seen in
Red is this season’s stand out colour trend. From cherry to crimson to rich shades of burgundy – make sure the bold hue is a staple in your wardrobe this year. Not your preferred colour to wear? Experiment with accessories instead.
3. Put your best foot forward
Boots with a block heel are my favourite style of shoe for the A/W season as they can be worn day to night, dressed up or down! They make any outfit look edgy without even trying. And when you want to look smart yet understated, you can’t go wrong with a chic pair of flats teamed with cashmere tights and a suede dress.
4. Keep under wraps
Scarves are great because you can change up your look every day with a different style or design! Tartan will always look super cute but why not go for sassy stripes, faux fur for a touch of glamour or fun colours to brighten up a dull wintery day?! They’re also a perfect way to freshen up last year’s jumpers. New scarf = instant update.
5. Stock up on knitwear
Chunky knits look effortlessly cool paired with denim while polo necks are ideal for layering underneath your summer dungarees, playsuits and dresses, taking them into the new season. Trust me, it’s a genius way to give them a new lease of life.
I’m slowly adding to my collection of knitwear now, thankfully there are so many gorgeous pieces arond at the mo. Also I’m so with you on the scarves :)
