Things that lift my mood

  1. Generally, I’m quite a cheery person but that’s not to say I don’t have ‘down’ days too. It’s a natural part of life! With this in mind, I’ve compiled a few things that lift my mood when my day hasn’t been great:

Hot chocolate

I’m a green tea kinda girl but occasionally, I treat myself to a hot chocolate when I feel like something more indulgent. I couldn’t drink them all the time because too much sugar gives me headaches (boo!) but they really hit the spot on a rainy and cold evening after a long day in work!

A good book

I used to love reading until I went to uni but I’m trying to get back into it again. I spend a lot of time on computers and my iPad so it’s nice to curl up with a book and not be staring at a screen. I find that I have a better sleep after reading too.

Trying somewhere new

Eating out makes me happy and visiting new restaurants and cafes makes me even happier. I like to try as many places as I can – why not?! I can’t imagine sticking to the same type of food or going to the same restaurant all the time! Even if my day has been rubbish, it can be made so much better by trying somewhere new, especially if I’ve heard good reviews!

A bunch of flowers

Vogue and flowers, what could be better?

I can never understand why people think shop-bought flowers are a waste of money because I think they’re amazing value! They brighten up any room instantly, have a gorgeous fragrance, are lovely to look at and have a wonderful calming effect. A bunch of beautiful flowers is sure to put a smile on my face.

I’d love to know what lifts your mood when you’re feeling rubbish. Let me know!

Great choices Bridget! I like Jasmine green tea but haven’t tried Irish breakfast tea – will have to give it a go! Thank you for reading. :)
