Blogging goals for 2016

I’ve always set myself goals as I like to have something to aim for. I’d hate to drift through life and not accomplish anything – I love a sense of achievement!  While I do have personal aims, I prefer to keep them to myself so I’m going to share my blogging goals for 2016.

Here’s to a bigger and better blog in 2016!

Writing

I’ve always had a natural ability to write so I’m quite happy with the written content of my blog. I think it’s clear, concise and easy-to-read without being too informal. I also like my tone of writing as I try to be professional (accurate spelling and grammar, consistent etc) but relatable at the same time. I could probably sound chattier but years of studying English has drummed the use of ‘proper’ language into me!

Goal 1: Keep up the good content but perhaps try and adopt a chattier tone of voice where appropriate.

Photography

My photos have come on leaps and bounds since I first started blogging. They’re far from perfect but they’re much better than they used to be. I never used to consider lighting, angles and composition but they all help to create a good image. I bought a DSLR last year but found it too heavy and impractical to take out and about so my iPhone 6 camera has been invaluable. However, I’ve recently got the Olympus Pen camera so I’m hoping that my images will improve even more.

Goal 2: Improve the quality of my images to the best of my ability.

Working with brands

I’ve been really fortunate to work with some incredible fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands this year and I hope that I will continue to do the same in 2016. It’s a lovely feeling when brands approach you to collaborate with them because they like your personal style, writing or even your blog as a whole.

Goal 3: Continue to work and build relationships with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands

Other blogging goals:

• Build my social media channels, especially Twitter and Instagram. I’d love at least 3K followers on each!
• Comment more on other peoples’ blogs. I’m constantly reading blogs but need to get into the habit of leaving feedback.
• Attending more events. The travel, expense and getting time off work puts me off a lot of events but I do want to meet more bloggers so I am hoping to attend as many as I can in 2016.

Tell me, what are your goals?

What a great set of goals! Happy New Year, Georgia!

This year my goals are 1) to get my new website and blog up and running, and 2) to stay as healthy and active as possible (as I’m currently halfway through my second pregnancy). Happiness is always an important goal for me, so to achieve this I like to keep things in balance: fitness, positive thinking, rest, good food, travel, friends and family.

    Wishing you a fantastic 2016!
