Tanning with St. Tropez

Even though I love the natural look, I don’t really like a natural tan. I hate the thought of permanently damaging my skin for the sake of having a bit of colour.

However, that doesn’t mean that I can’t fake it! I still like to have a glow so self-tan is one of my beauty staples. For me, St. Tropez is one of the best tanning ranges around. The formulas apply like a dream and the results are long-lasting. Plus, the products have a gorgeous fragrance! I also find that St. Tropez tan fades nicely after a few days rather than going patchy, which is a bonus.

Recently, I tried the St. Tropez Self-Tan Express Bronze Mousse which St. Tropez kindly gifted to me. It has an intelligent shade complex which not only allows you to choose your depth of tan but continues to develop once the guide colour has been washed off.

It’s simple to use. You apply the tinted guide colour with an applicator mitt, and then wash off after 1, 2 or 3 hours. I left mine on for around 3 hours before rinsing and was left with a natural, streak-free colour after leaving it to develop. By moisturising daily and exfoliating regularly, I managed to make the tan last a good 4 days.

Overall, I absolutely loved the Express Mousse. It’s perfect for when you have last minute plans or if you haven’t got the patience to wait overnight for a tan to develop. And the best thing about it is that you don’t have to worry about stained bed sheets! RESULT.

St. Tropez also sent me their Dark Mousse. I wouldn’t normally go for a deep tan as I’m fair-skinned and wouldn’t want to look too dark but I’ve heard good reviews that I wanted to give it a go. I haven’t got around to trying it yet but I shall update this post when I do!

Additionally, I got the chance to test out St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Facial Oil, formulated specifically for the face. I’ve been looking for a decent facial tanner for ages, especially one which isn’t drying or doesn’t make me break out.

This didn’t disappoint. A couple of drops gave me a subtle, sunkissed complexion. Don’t let the fact that its oil put you off either – it’s lightweight, non-greasy and has a non-pore blocking formula. I think I’ve found a new beauty essential!
