After taking a much-needed break after Christmas, I’m finally back to blogging. Although it was nice (and necessary!) to have some time off, I much prefer being in a routine. So, I’m very happy to be writing again! It makes me feel more complete.
I’ve been thinking a lot about 2017. In fact, I started thinking about it in 2016. Overall, last year was great. But there were times which were not so great. Times which made me want to fast-forward to 2017 and start again.
What happened in 2016
Fortunately, those not so great times in 2016 gave me invaluable life experience. 2016 was the year that I learned so much about myself and who I am as a person. It was also the year I realised that I’m capable of much more than I give myself credit for.
That is exactly why I’m heading into 2017 with a positive attitude. Even though I had my knock-downs, I got back up and fought. And most importantly, I never gave up. 2016 was the year of survival but 2017 will be the year of success.
Why 2017 will be different
Last year, I went into 2016 with no expectations. I didn’t want to build my hopes up only to be let down. But this year is different. I have expectations and I’m determined that 2017 lives up to them. I hope it’s going to be brilliant.
This year needs to be the best so far. It needs to be life-changing, in a good way. I want it to be MY year! I know that sounds cheesy. It used to make me cringe when people say things like: “This is going to be my year” or “New year, new me”.
But now I think, why the heck not?! Live and let live, I say. People are allowed to hope for the future. People are allowed to reinvent themselves or adopt a more positive attitude. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
Here’s to a positive, productive and happy 2017!
