Girl, keep going. And don’t stop!

At the beginning of this year, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve. A few months later, I became unexpectedly single after seven years of being in a relationship. My vision had suddenly changed. It no longer involved the two of us, it was just me.

Instead of putting my life on hold, I decided to reassess my plans, make some adjustments and carry on. Time waits for no one! Fortunately, my vision hasn’t changed too much. I’ve just figured out a different way to achieve it. ‘Adapt and overcome’ has become my new mantra!

I strongly believe in staying positive and keeping focused. As easy as it is to dwell on the past, it’s pointless. In fact, the ONLY time I want to look back is to see how far I’ve come. And that’s it! I absolutely refuse to live backwards.

In the meantime, I’d much rather spend my energy on moving forward. I might not have it all figured out yet but the main thing is that I keep going. Standing still won’t get me anywhere. It’s fine to pause, it’s fine to breathe but I will not stop.

Besides working towards my goals, I’ve also made some brand new plans. They’re things I wanted to do in the future anyway but now I’ve just moved them forward. I’ll let you know about them as the year goes on but I’m so excited. I can’t wait to try new things and put myself out there!

The best advice I can give anyone going through something similar is to keep going. No matter what happens, no matter how many people bring you down and no matter how tired/fed-up/down you feel – put your favourite lipstick on, keep going and don’t give up. Believe you can and you will!

Keep going lovely, everything happens for reason and although it might not feel like that now, one day you’ll realise it was for the best, you may well have dodged a bullet. I have been in the same situation and it is hard to keep going isn’t it? But one day you think “oh wow it’s been so many months and I haven’t cried” and then you know it’s getting better, keep smiling darling, you’re beautiful, it’s a huge loss to the ex and one day will be someone else’s gain xxxx
