2017 was a bittersweet year for me. Lots of good things happened but there were lots of let downs too. Sometimes the good outweighed the bad but at times, the bad took centre stage.
Without a doubt, it was one of the most difficult and challenging years of my life. But I gritted my teeth, put on a brave face and carried on. I pushed myself every single day. One thing I learned is that I’m the strongest person I know. Even when I thought I was weak.
In 2018, I’m continuing to push myself. I have a few ‘big’ goals in mind but I prefer to keep them to myself for now. However, I might share them with you all so keep an eye out on my lifestyle posts as the year progresses.
Nevertheless, I’m happy to share smaller goals. As usual, I want to maintain my fitness levels. I usually go to the gym 3-4 times a week so I want to keep that up. It would be great to try more classes too – I still haven’t got around to yoga! And I wouldn’t mind signing up for a half marathon either.
Another small but important goal is to continue driving. Last year, I started driving 10 years after passing my test so as you can imagine, I was a bit rusty! Despite the hiatus, I’ve come along miles (no pun intended) and I’m feeling much more confident behind the wheel. I had a beautiful new car in September and I can’t wait to make the most of it in 2018.
Additionally, I want to carry on working as hard as I possibly can. Since starting a new office job last year, freelancing had to take a backseat but as I’ve well and truly settled, I’m now hoping to get my freelance portfolio and blog up to scratch.
What’s more, I’m looking forward to completing my make-up qualification in June and perhaps advancing onto the next level. We’ll see!
