Life update, July 2018

From time to time, I post updates about my life here. Not too much detail of course as I’m a very private person but I don’t mind sharing bits and pieces.

I’m not sure about you but I enjoy reading updates from other bloggers because it gives me a raw insight into their lives. It’s not necessarily the highlights either. It’s the good and the bad. After all, honesty is what makes people real. And relatable.

Anyway, I’ve been keeping busy as usual. My colleagues recently described me as “100mph”, which is pretty spot on. I have too much energy and I’m always doing something. It’s one of my best qualities and also one of the worst. While it’s great to be productive, I find it very difficult to relax.

So, my half marathon is done and dusted. I’ve signed up for a 10k in September just for fun and also a full marathon in 2019. I would have attempted to enter the London Marathon but unfortunately I missed the ballot. Hopefully, I can try next year!

Instead of cardio, I’m now focusing on strength training in the gym. Previously, I’ve shied away from weights in fear that it would make me bulky but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The truth is, strength training is far more beneficial than cardio. It’s strengthens, tones and builds muscle. Plus so much more!

I’ve also completed a part-time makeup course at college. I did it to have another hobby after work and to have a break from academic subjects. However, I was amazed to find that there was a surprising number of exams, coursework and admin involved which defeated the object really.

I’ll be enrolling on another course in September, which will be more useful to my working career. I’m looking forward to it as it’s based in the building where I currently work so I certainly won’t have to travel far. Furthermore, I’m looking at doing a few other extra activities so watch this space!

Speaking of work, I’m still appreciative to be in a job where I don’t have to worry about going in. Having worked in some not-so-nice environments, I’m extremely grateful to work in such a lovely office.

Aside from my day job, freelancing is going well. I seem to be attracting some great opportunities and brands. As usual, I wish I could dedicate more time to it but full-time work has to take priority. Writing will always be my passion though!

That’s it from me for now. Catch you soon!
