Hello everyone! It’s been a while! Massive apologies for the radio silence. Life is just a whirlwind at the moment. And it’s showing no sign of slowing down. It’s true what they say, time absolutely flies as you get older. It’s crazy!
I’ve been waiting until I have free afternoon to sit down at my desk and actually write some content but since that hasn’t happened, I’m going to write posts when and wherever I can. Even if it’s on my phone while I’m out and about. I’ve really missed blogging. It gives me a sense of calm when everything gets chaotic.
So, what’s news? Basically, I’ve moved house. I still live with my parents whilst saving for my own place and we’ve moved (literally) around the corner to a gorgeous 4 bed in the same area. We’re currently in the process of renovating – my old house was the most beautiful, detached cottage so the standards are very high. I can’t wait to show you the progress!
Despite the upheaval, I’ve been going to the gym as much as possible. I’ve mainly been focusing on strength training and it’s exciting to see my body react. Besides training in the LC, I’ve also started Olympic Lifting at CrossFit SA1 which I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I have no idea why I kept putting it off, I guess it seemed a bit intimidating.
But the coaches and members are so nice, it’s actually more inspiring than intimidating. I’m constantly in awe of what they do! Especially the women. I hate the perception that big weights are just for men. You should see how much the girls can lift! WOW. To start off, I’ve been learning the basics such as mobility, form and technique. I’ve got a long way to go but hopefully, I’ll be lifting properly soon. Fingers crossed.
Alongside training, I’ve still been following a plant-based diet and going vegan where possible. I can’t even explain how much better it makes me feel! With and training, I’m probably in the best shape of my life. Even compared to my early twenties! It’s rather empowering. Apart from that, it’s my birthday on the 25th so I’m looking forward even though I’ll be one year closer to 30. Yikes!
