Christmas 2018; Things I’m looking forward to this year

I can’t remember the last time I looked forward to the festive season this much. After a year and a half being single, I guess it’s exciting being able to share it with someone. I love my own company but I also love having someone to make memories with. Christmas is a completely different experience when you’re in a relationship.

Extra Company

Luis is spending Christmas with me. He’s literally driving home for Christmas – from seeing his family in Cheltenham to my parents’ house in Swansea. Not only is it our first Christmas together but also the first Christmas in my new house. It’s still being renovated but it’s come along so much since the move in August.

New House

The vibe is completely different. My previous house was a stone cottage with a log burner in the Inglenook, bespoke solid oak latch doors and chic interior. Very rustic and homely. So you can imagine Christmas in those cosy surroundings.

In contrast, the new house is modern and streamlined with glass effect tops, gloss doors and polished chrome. Sleek but still stylish. But as I mentioned, totally different from the cottage. I’m excited to see what kind of Christmas the new house will bring!

Time Off

It goes without saying that I’m looking forward to spending quality time with my family too. And having time off work! I don’t mind my job but it’s still nice to have a break from the routine. I have five days off, then I’m back in for one day before having another six days off. Bliss!

New Year

Additionally, I’m looking forward to going to Cheltenham after Christmas. I’d never visited before I met Luis but it’s such a charming town. If you’ve never been, go if you get the chance! I’ll be celebrating NYE in this beautiful part of the Cotswolds and I can’t wait!

What are you looking forward to this Christmas?
