Zara black shorts and monochrome stripes

So, I thought I’d make the most of the sun making a surprise appearance in these Zara black shorts. I only bought them a few weeks ago and I’ve worn them loads already! They’re sold out in black and pink on the website but there’s a nice sea green pair in stock at the moment which would be lovely for holidays with a tan.

The black pair have been brilliant though. I can dress them up with a blouse and heels for a night out or wear them with a loose cotton top for casual daytime wear like I’ve done here. I’d wear this outfit shopping, for lunch or when I’m getting my hair and nails done. It’s cool and effortless without being try-hard. At least, I hope it is anyway!

I love the top – it’s really comfortable and great for throwing on when the weather is unreliable. I can’t see stripes going out of fashion anytime soon either, they’re a classic!

The waistcoat is also Zara and I like it because it’s smart without being too formal. It’s good for layering too, whatever the season. I’d love to get my hands on another one in a different colour. How gorgeous would a white one be?

I’m wearing my Kurt Geiger boots just in case it does start to rain again. It’s very tempting to wear sandals when the sun comes out but I don’t want to risk it today in case the weather does turn dull. There’s nothing worse than wet feet, it’s one of my pet hates!

I’ve even got an emergency pair of tights in my handbag to put on if it rains when I’m out and about! Ah, got to love British summertime. Any thoughts on the look?
