As busy as my life is with a full-time job, volunteering, going to the gym, making time for family and friends and staying sane, I try to attend blog events when I can. Especially ones which are fashion-orientated.
The most recent was the launch of the new Bouxtique, a luxury capsule collection at Boux Avenue in St David’s Cardiff. Think statement body pieces, intricate detail satin ties and delicate lace. Very Parisian chic! I almost wish I had a boyfriend to show them off to! Very strong emphasis on the almost.
Since my Christmas celebrations started in November, I was feeling worn-out by the first week of December so this event was a really nice way to unwind. I had an expert bra fitting as well as refreshments (thank you to the staff who catered to my non-alcoholic preferences).
Classic lace
I tried on a variety of gorgeous styles but eventually went for this black lace bra and matching knickers. There were other stunning shades like red and teal but I think black lace is classic and timeless. I know I’ll definitely reach for black whereas I have to be in the mood to wear red lingerie. All the colours are stunning though.
I like to have an element of practicality too. It’s all well and good having a drawer full of beautiful underwear but what’s the point if you can’t wear them! I know this collection probably isn’t designed to be practical but I like to inject a little luxury into everyday wear if I fancy it.
To complete the experience, I had the opportunity to pick out a pair of pyjamas which was a treat. I LOVE PJs – what girl doesn’t? I was immediately drawn to this pink stripe satin set. There was only one pair left and coincidentally they were in my size so it was meant to be! I didn’t take any chances.
Thank you to the incredible team at Boux Avenue Cardiff for making me feel very special. The staff are down-to-earth, knowledgeable and super approachable. I know a bra-fitting might feel daunting to some but you needn’t worry, the staff will take care of you from the moment you walk in. Thanks again, team Boux!
