Braun Silk-épil 9

When I received the Silk-épil 5 epilator from Braun a few months ago, I was impressed. I’ve become a big fan of epilators as they make hair removal a once a week affair unlike shaving which I have to do every other day.

This month, Braun sent me their latest epilator, the Silk-épil 9. It claims to give faster and more precise epilation than other Braun epilators. While I found it to be more precise than my Silk-épil 5, I couldn’t tell if it was faster or not.

Smooth legs and face?! Thank you Braun!

It works in the bath or shower or it can be used dry, which is great if you’re in a hurry or when you’re in the middle of a Netflix marathon.

The epilator features pulsating active vibrations for an extra gentle sensation and the pivoting head smoothly adapts to body contours for more comfort and efficiency.

I also love the fact that the smartlight reveals even the finest hair for extra thorough hair removal – stubble has no chance to rear its prickly head!

The epilator also came with four extras: a facial cleansing brush, a high frequency massage cap, a skin contact cap and a charging stand for an always charged device.

To be honest, I’m not fussed about having different caps but at least the options are there for when I fancy a change.

The facial brush was excellent. It removed make-up, impurities and was far more efficient than manual cleansing.

In addition, the brush refined and exfoliated my skin meaning that there was no need for separate exfoliating products – I could simply use with my facial wash. What’s more, it’s 100 per cent waterproof!

Overall, the Silk-épil pil 9 looked and performed superbly. It glided smoothly onto my skin and did a brilliant job of removing even the shortest of hairs. Of course, it wasn’t a pain-free experience but the pivoting head made it a lot more bearable. Thumbs up from me, Braun!

What’s your preferred method of hair removal?

I wanna try an epilator again but I used one admittedly like ten years ago but it really hurt me! I am so fed up with shaving though and can’t stand waxing so this should be the next step! Xx

Epilating is painful to begin with but after a few sessions, you get used to the pain. Maybe try epilating again and alternating with shaving if the pain gets too much?

Good to see Braun are still pushing the envelope, I think this range is the best out there so it would be easy for them to rest on their laurels! Good review Georgia :)

This is definitely gentler than the previous epilators that I have had. Does a decent job with hair removal, although it does seem to take a couple passes over an area to get it all. Even then there are usually some stray hairs that I have to shave. It is very nice that you can use this in the shower, since that is supposed to help prevent ingrown hairs. The first time I used it I used it dry and got a TON of ingrowns. Great for underarms though, no problems there and it gets all the hair, none of the issues I had with my legs.
