There’s something about coconut oil that I can’t resist as part of my beauty routine. I use it as a mouthwash (a.k.a. oil pulling), moisturiser, hair treatment and make-up remover.
With my love for coconut oil in mind, I was excited to try the Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil range recently. They kindly sent the hand and nail cream, body oil, day cream, body soufflé, eye perfect and lip balm.
Generally, I was really pleased with the products but I thought I’d detail some highlights below.
First of all, I have to tell you about the scent. The range doesn’t just smell of coconut, it’s rich in natural extracts including papaya, mango, fig, orange, lemon and lime. Talk about tropical paradise!
Hand and Nail Cream
A fast-absorbing cream which doesn’t leave my hands greasy. There’s no need to reapply too often either, my hands feel soft for ages afterwards.
Body Oil
A great intensive moisturiser, which is ideal for dry areas such as elbows and knees. Alternatively, it can be used as a hair treatment which I’m looking forward to trying.
Eye Perfect
This claims to be a “15 minute wrinkle filler” but I can’t comment on that because I don’t really have wrinkles. A good all-round eye cream though – I like the neat little tube it comes in!
Day Cream
A lovely face cream which is bursting with natural ingredients such as a pomegranate seed oil, plaintain leaf exract and cocoa butter. I find it too rich to use before applying make-up so I prefer to use it on barefaced days.
Body Souffle
A light and absorbent cream which makes my skin feel revitalised and smooth. It sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave a tacky residue – I applied Instant Tan over it the other day and they worked well together!
Lip Balm
I don’t go anywhere without lip balm and this is a great one to add to my collection. It’s super hydrating, makes a nice base for lipstick and contains SPF 15.
