Casual cool featuring Adidas

If you told me I’d be wearing sportswear other than to the gym earlier this year, I wouldn’t have believed you.

The idea of wearing sportswear when I wasn’t working out seemed far too casual for me. Even when I’m ‘dressed down’, I still like to look quite smart and sportswear just didn’t feel chic enough.

However, it’s been quite difficult to avoid the sportswear trend lately as it seems to be everywhere on the High Street.

Trying the sportswear trend

I picked this Adidas t-shirt up while shopping in Topshop and tried it on out of curiosity. There were joggers and vests but I’m very much a t-shirt kind of gal so it was definitely the right choice.

It was good quality, soft and felt really comfortable on. It wasn’t typically ‘me’ but I bought it and found a way to work it into my wardrobe without sacrificing my usual style.

The result

This is the look that I came up with. I wore it to see Justin Bieber back in October and I was surprised by how much I liked it.

I didn’t want to dress up too much because I had a feeling that we’d be surrounded by teenagers at the concert (we were!) but at the same time, I didn’t want to feel that I’d abandoned my usual look.

The t-shirt was perfect to tuck into my black leather skirt by Miss Selfridge. To finish off the outfit, I threw on a cute checked shirt to add some colour and an extra layer for the chilly Autumn weather.

As for footwear, I always have to wear high heels at concerts otherwise I can barely see anything. Petite problems at its best.

These over the knee boots by Ego provided much needed height and warmth, especially with long socks underneath! Plus, they make me feel sassy as hell.
