Trying something new; the bandeau jumpsuit

I’m all for experimenting with different styles when it comes to fashion. In fact, I’ve bought a few pieces recently which have made me say: “That’s not very me” but I gave them a go anyway. After all, you never know unless you try! I hate the thought of having the same look all the time.

Mixing things up

If you asked me to wear this wide-leg bandeau jumpsuit from Topshop a few years ago, I would have hesitated. First of all, I would have been conscious that the wide-leg shape wouldn’t suit me as I’m only 5ft 1. But as long as I wear high heels, they help elongate my legs and keep things in proportion.

I’ve never been fussed on bandeau necklines because I have a small chest and can’t usually, ahem, fill out a strapless top. But luckily, the jumpsuit is very fitted and flatters my shape nicely. The tie detail also gives the illusion of curves, which is nice!

In an attempt to stay away from black, I chose the jumpsuit as I liked the colour. To me, it looks lilac but I think it’s actually a light grey. Whatever the colour is, it’s soft, chic and understated. Perfect for a summer party or a wedding!

In my opinion, all bandeaus look better with a necklace. I went for a simple silver necklace to add some sparkle but not detract from the tie detail on the bust. My other accessories are also simple – a small watch, bracelet and a ring keep the look sophisticated.

As for my hair, I’ve gone for loose waves (my favourite!) and a slight beehive for volume. Never underestimate the power of backcombing either, it makes my hair look so much thicker and fuller. Again, I’ve worn a light nude lip which isn’t ‘me’ at all but I think that it works well with this look.

Hello! I’m ever so sorry, I took a break off the blog for Christmas. I’m not sure if it’s too late but this jumpsuit is a UK size 6.

      Best wishes,

      Georgia
