Okay, so this jacket isn’t anything new. In fact, I had it last year (thank you again LASULA!) and wore it to death. But honestly, it’s the BEST jacket I’ve had for ages and I’m not just saying that because it was blogger mail. So, I just had to dig it out again this winter.
I normally go for smart, longline coats. The type of coats which make a statement and look totally chic but aren’t entirely practical and don’t keep you all that warm. The kind of coats which look lovely on a crisp, sunny day in October but don’t quite do the job in the icy, dark depths of January.
I never thought I’d be a padded jacket kind of girl. They always seemed too sporty looking and sensible for me. I always used to sacrifice warmth for style.
Fortunately, I don’t have to sacrifice warm or style with this jacket. The fur lined hood and padding keeps me super cosy even when the temperature drops. And in my opinion, it doesn’t look too practical or sensible. There’s some glamour to it.
Here, I’ve worn the jacket with black skinny jeans from Topshop, a black roll neck jumper from Zara and black pointed ankle boots from Ego. To break up the black, I’ve added a corset belt from River Island. The gold accents really pop and coordinate with the gold zip details perfectly!
Despite my love for a khaki and black combo, the jacket also looks amazing with blue skinny jeans, grey boots (or even trainers!) and a grey knit for a more casual, weekend look. But most of the time, I love wearing it with all black outfits for an effortless feel.
