Hair update; going blonde for the summer

Since having balayage, I’ve fallen in love with blonde again. After having dark hair for a while, it was time to lighten up (literally!) and embrace the blonde. When I had it done back in April, it was subtle but enough to make a difference. But this time, I fancied something a bit more noticeable.

So, this was the result. It’s a lot blonder but at the same time, it’s not OTT. And what’s great about balayage is that it’s low maintenance. I can leave this grow as much as I want to and it will still have the same effect. No need to worry about roots! In fact, isn’t that the whole point?!

As for the cut, it’s shorter than I wanted but at least it looks healthy. I’ve had some layers put in too, which makes my hair look thicker when I curl it. Despite the cut, I’m still growing it. I find it hard to not have regular trims though, I like my hair to look and feel strong.

Big hair, don’t care

I don’t know about you but I always have to style my own hair after having it done. I know exactly how I like it and for some reason, hairdressers don’t seem to get it quite right. I’m the same with other people doing my make-up. I know exactly how I like it so prefer to do it myself!

I like thick, bouncy hair with plenty of volume and body. I can’t stand having my hair straightened – I’m a curl girl! So, I’ve styled my own hair here. It was blow-dried nicely in the salon and the thickness was there, just not the big bouncy curls. But I don’t mind finishing off the look.

What do you think of my new hair update? Let me know!

I’m the same with restyling my hair once I get home from the hairdressers. I love the cut and colour. It’s gorgeous!
