A very happy camper! Glamping with Wild Things events

With holidays abroad ruled out this year (thanks Covid-19!), I’m more than happy to stay closer to home and explore what Wales has to offer. Well, the Swansea area due to the local lockdown restrictions. Anyway, say hello to the staycation of my dreams!

My camping look? The quirkier, the better!

Boutique camping

I was lucky enough to win a staycation for four guests with Wild Things Events, who specialise in bell tents for boutique camping. A lovely lady named Laurie Nathaniel is the brains behind the business and she is passionate about making your stay as personalised as possible. Not only is she able to create a bespoke stay for any occasion, she can throw in cute added extras such as a s’more box, hot chocolate kit or a fire pit.

Hold onto your hats!

I had never been glamping before but Wild Things introduced me to it in style! Laurie sets up and takes down one of their canvas bell tents at your location of choice. I chose the beautiful Three Cliffs Bay Holiday park, as it wasn’t too far for me or my guests to travel. But I love that you can have a tent in your garden if you wish, a great idea for children!

Boho decor

The six-metre tent included boho inspired décor and furnishings such as air beds, bedding, pillows, blankets, rugs, cushions, fairy lights and lanterns. So you don’t have to worry about making the place comfortable. That’s all done for you! Laurie even provided a vintage trunk full of useful bits like tea/coffee, cleaning products, tissues, a torch and retro games to play. Dominoes anyone?

How cute!

Bottoms up!

For me, staying at the five-star Three Cliffs Holiday Park was a no brainer. The views are outstanding, it’s in walking distance to the beach and the bathroom facilities are excellent. I mean, power shower and underfloor heating?! What a dream!

I’ve seen worse views

Staycation heaven

It’s also on Wales Coastal Path so you can enjoy some fantastic walks and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby if you fancy a home-cooked meal. I recommend The King Arthur if you’re looking for a cosy country pub!

A glamping convert!

I can’t thank Laurie enough for making the stay so wonderful. Her attention to detail is exceptional! What’s more, her customer service is brilliant and she will go the extra mile to ensure you have a unique, fun and carefree stay.

Wild Things, you certainly made my heart sing.
