I picked up this Topshop tropical dress a few days ago as I fancied treating myself. Well, someone has to eh!
The gorgeous floral print caught my eye immediately. I have a weakness for florals in the summer, it’s such a feminine print which looks fresh and pretty in the sunlight. Having said that, florals look fabulous during the colder months too. Winter florals are perfect for brightening up a dull November, don’t you think?
Back to this Topshop beauty, I really like the rib detailing on the neckline as it adds a cool sporty touch – perfect for giving a subtle nod to the sports luxe trend that seems to be popping up a lot lately. I’m not sure I could wear the trend head-to-toe but at least I’m trying it out with this dress.
The dress was only £32 which I think is quite reasonable considering I can wear it for a number of occasions from nights out with heels to lazy days around town with a denim jacket and flat sandals. I’d probably wear it with sneakers and a leather jacket to a gig or shopping too.
For the night out, I teamed the dress with my trusty black wedges which I’ve had for about six years. They’re so versatile and I’ve worn them to death, I’m surprised that they haven’t fallen apart yet (please don’t be tempted, fate). The patent effect injects an edgy vibe into the outfit.
Beauty wise, I opted for big waves, defined eyes and coral nails to complete the look. Coral is a fail-safe nail colour for the summer months as it goes with everything and looks lovely with a tan.
What do you think of the look? I’d love to know your thoughts!
