I was recently invited to the Next press day, where they unveiled their collections for spring 2015. It took place in The Vinyl Factory, a unique venue in the heart of central London (Soho). There were collections for womenswear, menswear, kidswear and home but I’m just going to focus on womenswear and home collections in this post.
The womenswear collection for spring 15 mixed floral, botanical prints and poster paint shades. Texture was a must across clothing and accessories with laser cut detailing, fringing and embossing in abundance.
The colour palette included green, coral, yellow and white throughout the ‘Bloom’ collection while ‘Folk Fusion’ collection focused on earth tones and grey. Fringing had a strong presence with leather fringe jackets, bags and statement tasselled edge cardigans everywhere.
The ‘Japanais’ collection saw bold graphic stripes and geo prints on softly tailored pieces. This collection is full of chic cover-ups for the summer including the boyfriend, fluid trench and biker jacket in all soft fondant tones and navy.
Meanwhile, the ‘Montone’ collection highlighted the emphasis for SS15 with cut out work on jumpsuits, dresses and mesh sweaters.
As for accessories, there were gorgeous perforated totes, printed raffia clutches and fringing on everything from sandals to suede messenger bags. There were also adorable clutches faces on and an eye-clutching retro sweet clutch.
I always look forward to seeing what homewear that Next has to offer and the spring collection didn’t disappoint.
The ‘Skandinavia’ collection saw punched metal accessories blend with distressed velvet cushions and North African inspired prints. Bold monochrome was offset with antique bronze metal and copper to add a touch of luxe. Statement glassware and quirky worked together to create an eclectic yet tailored look.
The ‘Togetherness’ collection just screamed ‘spring has sprung’. Dragonflies and butterflies set the theme for a nature filled array of ditsy floral print textiles and rabbit ornaments. Pastel coloured glassware, sentiment slogans, pretty printed trinket boxes added touches of romanticism.
Besides the beautiful collections, there were plenty of other goodies to lust over including beauty sets, perfume and cosmetics. And I didn’t go hungry either with the snacks on offer, including candyfloss, popcorn and canapés.
As I left, I was given a fantastic goody bag which contained a cosy jumper and a make-up gift set with a nude lipgloss and gold nail polish. Thank you so much Next!
