A L’Oreal and Maybelline look

I received an assortment of gorgeous goodies from L’Oreal recently, which included make-up by both L’Oreal and Maybelline.

I thought that I would show the look that I achieved using a few of the products. I have used other brands aswell but I’m just going to focus on the products that were sent to me.

A look using L'oreal and Maybelline make-up
Excuse the crazy eyebrows, I’m growing them out!

Face

I applied Maybelline Fit Me anti-shine foundation in sun beige which I applied directly to my face then blended using the Real Techniques foundation brush from the Travel Essentials kit and my fingertips. The formula is fresh with a lightweight coverage. I don’t have oily skin so I can’t comment on the anti-shine effect but the finish is slightly powdered and natural-looking. The stick is also easy to use and glides on effortlessly. Great for touch-ups on the go!

Other products used: Benefit Porefessional primer, Benefit Boi-ing concealer in medium, Real Techniques multi-task brush, Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in sunlight and Benefit Sugarbomb blusher.

Eyes

I used Maybelline Big Eyes light catching palette in luminous brown. The palette contains a primer shade to conceal and highlight eyes and three co-ordinating shades with a step by step application guide. The neutral shades are perfect for every day wear but as they’re not very pigmented, they don’t show up well unless you put a lot on. However, the shadows have a smooth texture which blend easily. Also, I feel that my eyes do look bigger and brighter – what do you think?

I applied L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga Punky mascara. When I first tried this, I was undecided. It made my lashes stand out but at the same time, it made them look thick and clumpy – almost spidery. But there was something about it that I liked so I carried on using it. Now, I’m converted! It lifts my lashes really well and gives nice volume. It still gets clumpy but I use Eco Tools lash and brow comber from the starter set after each coat to separate my lashes and they look much better.

Other products used:  Benefit Stay Don’t Stray primer for concealers and eyeshadows, Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow pencil in dark brown and Collection Colour Lash mascara in clear to tame my brows.

Lips

I’m wearing Maybelline Color Drama lipstick in nude perfection on my lips. The texture is creamy and goes on well. The colour is beautiful, I’ve been trying to find a nude that’s suits me for ages with no luck and this really is nude PERFECTION! The formula is long-lasting but it’s also very drying. I pop a tiny bit of lip balm on underneath or over the top, which helps a lot. Apart from that, it’s a winner!

Other products used: Carmex Tube Cherry lipbalm
