Rare London black dress

When it comes to dresses, I find it extremely hard to resist black. It’s such a timeless and elegant colour which never looks dated and suits all occasions. Plus, it looks great all year round! Not many other colours do.

I have about five or six black dresses in my wardrobe and they’ve all served me well. I’ve worn them to interviews, meetings, work, parties, family gatherings, on weekends, on nights out. The list is endless! And I can never say no to more.

So when Rare London sent me a package, I was pleased to unwrap a gorgeous black dress – another one to include in my growing collection!

LBD love

I wouldn’t usually go for low necklines but I found it surprisingly flattering, even with my small boobs. Sometimes I think plunging necklines suit bigger busts more and sometimes they look better on smaller chests but I can imagine this dress suiting most sizes.

Such a cute neckline!

What’s more, the cups were lightly padded which helped give a nicer shape and meant that there was no need for me to wear a bra, hurrah! I’m secretly thrilled when I don’t need to wear a one –it’s a bit of a treat!

Beautiful detailing

I love the strap detailing as it makes the dress stand out and look a bit different to your average LBD. I wouldn’t feel the need to wear a necklace with it as the straps add enough interest without overdoing it. In fact, I wouldn’t wear much jewellery with it anyway, perhaps a simple bracelet and a watch.

It’s the perfect party dress and would look amazing on a Saturday night out with high heels and a statement clutch bag. All you need to accessorise is a cocktail!

What kind of dresses do you prefer? Prints, bright colours or basic black? Let me know!
