My boyfriend has a knack for buying me lovely gifts and he didn’t let me down recently.
I used to be obsessed with books when I was younger but studying English Literature at degree level quickly killed my enthusiasm for reading.
Four years after my degree, I’m trying to get back into reading something that’s not a blog post or a magazine. There’s something so relaxing about going to bed early with a good book – I need to do it more often.
With that in mind, Phil bought me two books that I’ve had my eye on but never thought to buy for myself: #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso and Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes.
I haven’t started reading #GIRLBOSS yet but I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. I’m hoping it will give me the inspiration and motivation to keep doing what I’m doing and aim high. Fingers crossed!
I’m about halfway through Pretty Honest and I have to say, I’m really enjoying! I instantly warmed to Sali as she’s Welsh herself and as the book suggests, it’s a very honest read.
For example, she says that toners are largely useless scented waters which aren’t wholly necessary to your beauty routine and the stereotype that women must cut their hair short once they reach a certain age is nonsense. Hurrah! I admire her straight-talking views.
How cute is the bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics? I’m a sucker for personalised goodies! Georgia wasn’t a popular name when I was a child and I could never find it on any keyring, pen or headband! I’d like to think I’m making up for lost time with my personalised Hoola. I’m trying to use up my current bronzer first but I’m looking forward to seeing what Hoola is like.
Are you a big fan of bronzer? Loved #GIRLBOSS? Read Pretty Honest? It would be brilliant to hear your thoughts!
