Fforestfach Retail Parc challenge

Recently, Fforestfach Retail Parc challenged me to create an outfit which could be worn for various summer occasions such as a wedding, garden party, BBQ and more. The budget was £150 for the whole outfit, including shoes and accessories. Challenge accepted!

I wanted an outfit that was smart enough for a wedding but not so formal that I couldn’t wear it to a garden party or BBQ. For me, the outfit below is the  perfect summer outfit as it can be dressed up or down according to the occasion.

Skirt, £32, Top, £20, Bag, £20, Shoes, £22, all River Island.

This purple tile print skirt from River Island immediately caught my eye. I usually wear dark colours so it made a refreshing change to go for pretty pastel hues. The A-line cut is quite flattering too!

I teamed the skirt with this sleeveless crepe top. In a sweet shade of purple, it complemented the skirt nicely! The embroidery to the front provided the perfect finishing touch as it added some intricate detail without taking attention away from the skirt. For a more dressed down look, I’d wear it with white shorts and silver sandals.

While stilettos at a wedding are perfectly acceptable, they might look OTT at a casual event such as a BBQ. Therefore, I wanted something in between heels and flats. I have tiny feet so shoe shopping is always difficult for me. Fortunately, I found these white sandals from the River Island kids section, which fitted me well. The heel is chunky enough to give me some height but comfortable enough to wear them all day.

Watch, £19.99, H&M. Rings, assorted, New Look. Bangle (part of a set), New Look.

In total, I managed to spend £130.95, which isn’t bad considering the outfit will suit a number of occasions. If my challenge has left you feeling inspired, make sure you like the Fforestfach Retail Parc Facebook page, as they will giving away £150 of shopping vouchers to one lucky winner – plus I will be going shopping with that very lucky person to help them get their perfect summer outfit!
