There’s something about dark colours that I feel so safe wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I love neutrals and brights now and again but I’ll always go back to black. It’s stylish without even trying and looks great for all sorts of occasions. Whenever I’m unsure what to wear, I’ll always go for a black base and simply add a coloured accessory if the look needs livening up.
That’s pretty much what I’ve done with this outfit, whilst in Paris. I paired this ASOS black suede A-line skirt with an ASOS black and white stripe t-shirt and finished it with an ASOS Western tassel suede and leather cross body bag.
If you only buy one suede skirt this A/W, then make it this black style. Unlike tan suede (which I still love!), you’ll be able to wear this black for Halloween to Bonfire Night to Christmas parties with tights and block heel boots. The high rise also makes it ideal for tucking in a shirt, knit or a basic tee like I’ve done here.
The boyfriend fit of this striped tee is perfect for a more relaxed feel. The soft-touch jersey fabric and rolled sleeves further add to the casual vibe of the outfit. I like the chest pocket too, it’s a cute touch.
I’ve injected a bit of colour with the suede and leather bag. Admittedly, it looked deep red online but when it arrived it was bright purple. I didn’t mind though as it still gave my outfit some oomph. It was an amazing bag for taking out and about in Paris – with a zip top fastening and adjustable strap, my bits and pieces felt secure and the gorgeous tassel fringing really completed the look!
What do you like the most about this outfit? Let me know!
LOVE the skirt, and I’m so with you on the black!
