River Island leopard print skirt

I used to be obsessed with leopard print as a teenager. In fact, obsessed was an understatement! Everything I owed was leopard print – from slippers to make-up bags to phone cases. I liked it because it was versatile and stylish but fun at the same time.

My love for leopard isn’t as strong these days but I don’t mind the odd printed piece now and again. This River Island faux fur leopard print skirt is a lovely little number!

The A-line cut is really flattering and the gold buttons add some eye-catching detail without cheapening it too much. It’s also beautifully soft and comfortable to wear, which is a bonus. And the fact that it is faux fur really did it for me!

The material is very subtle so it’s perfect if you want to dip a toe into the fur trend without looking like a full-on yeti. Don’t get me wrong, I do like faux fur but I have to be in the mood to wear it. In my mind, there’s something a bit try-hard about it. I don’t have to worry with this skirt though as it’s not noticeable until you look closely.

Loving this leopard!

Here, I’ve teamed the skirt with a Zara black roll neck jumper, Marks and Spencer black tights and River Island grey boots. I could have worn it with a khaki or cream knit but I think black is a much better choice – it looks sharper and edgier than any other colour!

If I hadn’t worn tights, I would have worn for black chunky ankle boots to toughen up the look. However, I went for warmth over bare legs so I chose grey boots to avoid looking ‘too black’. I think the grey gives a nice contrast without detracting away from the skirt itself.

Do you like this look? Let me know your thoughts!

I used to be the same, SO. MUCH. LEOPARD. PRINT. I tend to avoid it in clothes now but this skirt is gorgeous, definitely worth making an exception for :)

Glad I wasn’t the only one with the obsession. Me too, I don’t tend to go for leopard print anymore! But I can just about handle this skirt as it’s not too OTT. Thanks for stopping by Claire! :)
