It’s taken me a while to get into the bomber jacket trend properly but I’ve been wearing them a lot more lately. Why not! I normally wear fitted jackets such as bikers and blazers so it makes a change to wear a jacket with a relaxed fit.
The loose shape of the bomber jacket has really grown on me as they’re super comfortable, easy to throw on and give any outfit a ‘street style’ edge. I’m used to looking smart but sometimes it’s good to embrace casual pieces.
Bomber jackets are also lightweight making them ideal to wear on cooler summer days and into the autumn season. I’d probably wear them in spring too!
I thought that I’d show you what I wear with a khaki bomber jacket. I picked this particular one up from River Island as it was reasonably priced and a nice shade of khaki. Not too dark or light – just the right colour!
Here, I’ve teamed the jacket with a basic t-shirt to keep the look simple and clean. Never underestimate the power of a plain white tee. They’re so versatile and can be dressed up or down. I recommend that everyone has one (or a few!) in their wardrobe.I guarantee you’ll wear it all the time. I know I do!
Instead of jeans, I’ve paired the jacket with a denim skirt. I love this washed black number from ASOS. Again, it makes a nice change from the usual blue denim. I never thought that I would like high-waisted skirts as much as I do but they are just so flattering. I think they’re perfect for wearing with cute tops tucked into them.
