A neutral OOTD featuring Boohoo and ASOS

Even though black is my favourite colour to wear, I also have a thing for neutral and muted tones. I just love grey, camel and white as they look effortlessly stylish and never seem to date. While certain colours are ‘trendy’, neutrals look good whatever the season. They’re such worthy investments.

Spot the subtle lace details!

I put this look together recently when festival season was in full swing. I haven’t been to a proper festival this year but if I had gone to one, I would have worn this ensemble. This outfit went down well on Instagram and I’m so pleased with how the photos turned out, especially the photo above!

While I can appreciate that it’s not practical (white shorts and suede are not destined for mud), it’s definitely more ‘me’ than typical festival gear. I’m not a fan of the flower crown, patterned raincoat and wellies look. But that’s just me – I always have to be different!

The shorts are by Boohoo and have cute pom pom detailing down the sides. They’re also ‘mom’ fit which are a bit more conservative than hotpants. I’m past the stage of wearing tiny shorts with my bum almost hanging out! Oh, the shame.

I’ve always had a deep hatred for having bras on show but I’ve gone against my own rules and teamed a bralet with a camisole on purpose. Not only does it cover my modesty whilst wearing a skimpy cami top but it also adds some pretty lace detail and texture.

Loving those neutrals

Now for the suede jacket. I’ve got plenty of brown/tan/rust styles but not grey so it was love at first sight when I spied it on ASOS. I’m a little bit obsessed with it. Who doesn’t need soft grey suede in their ridiculous collection of outerwear!

What’s your favourite part of this neutral look?
