Trying new dress styles ft. Missguided

When it comes to dresses, I tend to stick to the same colours, cuts and fabrics. My go-to colour is black but I also like white, grey and the odd bright shade if I want to stand out.

As for cuts, I tend to favour knee-length dresses which are fitted with modest necklines (i.e. no cleavage). With fabrics, I choose cotton, denim, lace or leather.

Recently, I’ve experimented with a few styles that I wouldn’t normally go for. Instead of browsing and thinking ‘That’s not very me’, I threw caution to the wind and ordered anyway. Complete rebel, I know!

Time to mix things up with Missguided!

First up, I went for this wrap tie waist shirt dress. Initially, I was worried that the silky fabric might look naff but once I slipped it on, I couldn’t take it off. I loved the look and feel of it! Slinky and seriously comfortable.

Normally I’d steer clear of plunging necklines but as I have small boobs, I decided to try it. There’s no danger of me popping out!

Originally, I wasn’t sure about the wrap style as I thought it would be unflattering on my petite frame. However, the tie waist helps pull me in and define what curves I have. Plus, I was pleasantly surprised by the lilac shade!

Next up, it’s the satin tux dress. I really like tuxedo dresses but never bought one until now as I used to think, ‘I need boobs to pull that off!’

Not really. I wore it regardless. Now I’m a firm believer that small-chested gals can rock low necklines too. Yay!

Last but not least is the frill front cami dress. Again, I wouldn’t usually go for something like this because I’d be wary of the colour (would I wear it again?) and whether the frill was too fussy.

Nevertheless, I was glad that I chose it! The colour makes a refreshing change and the frill is actually pretty cute.

Do you prefer a particular style of dress? Have you tried Missguided dresses before?

Was just curious as to what size you normally buy clothes in and what size you ordered the silky wrap dress?
