How I wear denim skirts featuring River Island

Okay, I know Autumn is setting in and it’s all about cosy knitwear but I have SO MANY outfits from the summer that I can’t not share them with you! I’m going to try and post as many as I can before I start showing you my A/W looks! I’ve got some time before the temperatures really start to drop.

Denim has always been a favourite in my wardrobe and I’ve been loving denim skirts this year. They’re a great alternative to jeans when the weather is mild and they go with everything from t-shirts to blouses to jumpers. The shoe possibilities are endless too! I like to wear mine with trainers, boots or sandals.

I’ve kept the following looks simple to keep the emphasis on the skirts. If you’re ever stuck on what to wear, I guarantee that you can’t go wrong with denim and a basic t-shirt. I swear by plain, cotton t-shirts and stock up on versatile colours whenever I can. Black, grey marl and white are my top picks!

Patchwork denim

As you can see, I’ve gone for a crisp white ASOS tee here with a denim skirt from River Island. I adore the patchwork design, high waist and the A-line shape! It wasn’t only me who loved it either, I had lots of people asking where the skirt was from and River Island even re-posted it on their Instagram account.

Embroidered denim

The next outfit is the same but instead of the patchwork skirt, I’ve opted for an embroidered denim number. I can’t resist pretty details and I’ve worn lots of embroidered pieces over the past few months. I’m sure that I will throughout the colder months too.
