Saving face: the hero make-up products I’m living for

My makeup routine has certainly changed since my last beauty post. After months of going bare-faced during the first lockdown, I have grown to appreciate the magic of make-up again.

After months of no make-up, it’s good to be glam again! Please note, this pic is just to illustrate and not necessarily representative of products mentioned

I thought I’d share some products I’m genuinely loving right now – all paid for with my own money with the exception of the Ole Henriksen primer, which was gifted*.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright primer*

I’ve tried countless primers over the years and have come to the conclusion that light, hydrating formulas are my favourite. Nothing too greasy or full of silicone. This one ticks the boxes and smells good enough to eat.

MAC Strobe Cream

I like to alternate primer with this before putting on foundation. It gives my skin a radiant glow, which is much appreciated in the cold, dull months. I like my complexion to look as healthy as possible and while diet is key, you can’t go wrong with a nice base.

NARS Sheer Glow foundation

I bought this as I needed ‘going out’ foundation as opposed to my everyday one but it’s so good, I find myself sneaking it into my daily routine. It’s full coverage without being heavy and I don’t need to use much to get my desired finish.

MAC Eyeliner in Costa Riche

Even though black eyeliner is classic, I much prefer brown for a more natural look. This shade is a rich coffee colour with a reddish undertone, which doesn’t sound flattering but it makes my blue eyes stand out by a mile!

MAC Lash Maximiser

I have naturally long lashes but as they’re quite fair, I need to use a lot of mascara to define them. This maximiser really gives them a boost before I put my mascara on and makes them look thicker. I was asked twice whether I had false lashes on when I starting using it so it must be doing something right.

Dior Addict Stellar Gloss in Everdior, 643

I love lipliner/lipstick but constantly checking and reapplying gets tedious. So, gloss makes a welcome change! This one is really pigmented, non-sticky and the coral colour brightens up my entire complexion. I wear any time I want low-maintenance glam.

MAC Fix + Prep and Prime Spray

Nope, MAC aren’t sponsoring me promise! I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and even though it isn’t a setting spray like I thought, it is really refreshing, hydrating and gives a dewy finish. It helps make powder less cakey too, which is a bonus.

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eyes palette

I’ve never understood the hype of Charlotte Tilbury until I tried this palette. The shadows are SO creamy, buildable, easy to blend and the colour payoff is brilliant. Having said that, I prefer the golds and browns to the reds and pinks but maybe they will grow on me.
