Hugo Boss Woman, Hugo Boss Man and 007 for Women fragrances

I received a lovely package yesterday from Talk PR just in time for Valentine’s Day. It contained Hugo Boss Woman, Hugo Boss Man and 007 for Woman. I’ve reviewed all of them below so if you’re looking for last minute gifts for your loved one then read on!

Hugo Woman

Top notes: Boysenberry/Himalayan Red Grass

Middle notes: Jasmine/Black Tea

Base notes: Amber

Hugo Woman is a fruity and floral fragrance with an aromatic ‘boyish’ twist. The scent creates a contrast of tones fusing traditionally feminine and unexpected masculine notes to reflect Hugo’s minimalist glamour.

The bottle is a circle of transparent glass revealing the clear fragrance. It is simple and sleek with an air of minimalism, while the hidden scarlet ring adds a discreet feminine touch.

The scent is youthful with sparkling top notes of Boysenberry, heart notes of Jasmine and spicy, smoky Black Tea which then settle down into a sensual amber dry down. Rich, creamy and potent, it is designed to redefine the conventions of female fragrances. I think that it does this quite well – it’s not sweet and sickly but not too manly either.

A clean and pleasant fragrance for daytime wear.

Hugo Man

Top notes: green apple, bergamot, cedar leaves, basil and thyme

Heart notes: Lavender, geranium, sage and clove

Base notes: Sandalwood, vetiver, cedar wood and oak moss.

Hugo Man is a naturally fresh yet individual combination of fruits, herbs and pine. I gave it to my boyfriend Phil who described the scent as, “Distinctive, sharp and masculine.” I have to agree with him, it’s an extremely masculine fragrance! A bit too heavy and woody for my liking but then again, it’s not targeted at me.

Phil liked that it was strong and a bit different to the scents he usually wears. “I sprayed this on in the morning and I could still smell it at the end of the day. It was nice to not feel the need to re-spray at lunchtime,” he commented.

He concluded that it’s a modern classic which is long-lasting.

007 for Women Eau de Parfum

Top Notes: Black Pepper, Rose Milk

Heart Notes: Blackberry, White Jasmine

Base Notes: Black Vanilla, White Musk, Cedarwood

007 for Women is a fragrance inspired by the iconic women found in Bond’s world. The fragrance is ‘dangerously seductive’ itself, with a unique mix of ingredients that blend signature femininity with mystery into a modern interpretation of an oriental fragrance.

It opens with the surprising combination of creamy rose milk spiced with black pepper. In the heart, juicy blackberry lends sweetness, while white jasmine ensures sensuality, before a tempting dry down of vanilla and musk leaves a lasting impression.

This fragrance surprised me. It smells quite luxurious and expensive. The bottle isn’t bad either, the diamond-cut pattern, shaprely collar and rose gold trim are eye-catching and enticing.

Overall, it’s a very dark yet feminine fragrance that embodies sophistication, confidence, and sexiness.
