ASOS embroidered floral dress

As soon as spotted this ASOS embroidered floral dress a few weeks ago, I had to have it! I’m a sucker for embroidered or embellished dresses and luckily, this little number has both embroidery and mini jewel embellishment. Perfect!

I’m wearing it in Brussels here, before a day out in Bruges. The weather was quite cloudy so the dress was ideal as it’s made from a mid-weight cottton and kept the chill off but looked summery too.

Not only do I love the colours of this dress but I love the shape too – it has contoured seams which gives a really feminine silhouette!

I teamed the dress with my open-toe beige boots from River Island. At first, I was worried about them being too matchy-matchy but as the dress is quite busy, I didn’t mind the shoes not standing out too much.

Again, I didn’t mean for the clutch to match the neutral tones of the outfit but it was the most suitable bag I had in my collection. I didn’t want a brightly coloured bag to detract from the dress and my trusty black clutches would have looked out of place.

As usual, I’ve kept the jewellery simple (I’ve really grown out of fussy accessories) and finished off the look with a pair of gold and brown sunglasses and a subtle fuchsia lip.

All in all, I think that this would be a lovely dress for a special occasion such as a wedding, christening or just on a nice day out like I have done. And if you’re not a fan of khaki, ASOS have started stocking it in black too. Tempted? Me too.
