ASOS embellished paisley dress

I wear sequins all year round but now that the party season is approaching, I can fully embrace the glitz. You can never have too much sparkle at Christmas so I’m taking full advantage!

When I spotted this ASOS embellished paisley dress recently, I just had to snap it up. I thought that the colours were gorgeous and the paisley design was really eye-catching. Plus, how incredible is the detailing?! It’s a bit different to the standard all-over sequin dresses that I’ve seen on the high street.

I loved the high neck and the long sleeves too – I don’t particularly like showing too much skin on nights out, especially in the winter (my skirt and crop top days are long gone!) so this dress was perfect for me. Although it’s advertised as ‘bodycon’ on ASOS, it was a loose fit on me but that’s probably due to my small frame rather than the dress itself. It was still flattering on though!

On this occasion, I teamed the dress with black tights as the weather was temperamental when this photo was taken but I’d normally go for bare legs and boots. For a special occasion, I’d probably wear heels for extra glamour.

This dress would be ideal for Christmas parties with the family, colleagues or the girls. It’s conservative without being boring and fun without looking tacky. I could wear it with tights or bare legs and the length is sensible. I don’t even have to consider jewellery because the dress is busy enough and as for shoes, simple black heels or boots would suffice. And to accessorise, I’d pick a black leather or suede clutch to let the dress do all the talking!

In my opinion, this dress ticks all the boxes. Let me know your thoughts on this look!
