River Island khaki dress

I love jumpers layered under dresses because it means that I can be warm and I don’t have to miss out on wearing sleeveless dresses at the same time. It’s also a perfect way to wear summer dresses (certain styles anyway) all year round. Result!

I picked up this River Island khaki dress a couple of weeks ago as it was something that I could wear to the office as well as out and about on the weekends. Additionally, it looks lovely worn as a long sleeveless jacket with the zip undone!

The dress is a loose fit on me, which makes it ideal for layering knitwear underneath and for comfort in general. I don’t feel like a sack in it either – it just hangs nicely without making me feel frumpy.

Besides its practicality and functionality, I really like the colour. I think khaki is a shade which suits everyone! Khaki is a great option when you want to wear colour but nothing too bold as it’s still quite neutral and easy-to-wear! What’s more, it looks good in any season!

Khaki and black make a perfect combo!

Personally, I think khaki and black make the best pairing hence why I’ve worn a black roll neck jumper here but khaki also looks good with nude, cream and brown hues too.

It was tempting to team the dress with my beloved black ankle boots but I resisted and went for grey just to add some contrast to the outfit and stop it from looking ‘too black’. I’ve also got my eye on pair of camel suede and snakeskin boots aswell, which would be a nice touch when I want a change from grey.

Overall, the dress is a super versatile piece which will be a firm favourite in my wardrobe for many seasons to come! Would you wear this outfit? Let me know your thoughts on this look!
