I run three times a week and walk every day so I’ve wanted a fitness tracker for a while to monitor my activity. So when Withings sent me their Activité Pop, I was keen to try it out.
In terms of appearance, the watch is simple and stylish with a glass face and a smooth silicone strap for comfort and durability. It has analogue hands and a 1-100 dial that represents your progression towards your daily step goal. The watch is also lightweight and easy to wear, like a regular wristwatch. I chose black because it would co-ordinate with my everyday outfits and gym wear but there are other colours available including blue, sand and pink.
Step-counting is the main feature of the the watch. It shows you how active you are in real-time and the HealthMate app suggests easy changes to encourage you to walk more, which is handy! Apart from step-counting, I found the watch particularly useful on the treadmill as it automatically recognises intensity and logs it as running. Perfect for when I’m breaking a sweat in the gym! On a side-note, it also recognises swimming so dive in and the watch will log your full session and record calories burned.
One of my favourite features of the Activité Pop is sleep-tracking. It automatically detects when you are asleep, keeps track of light and deep sleep stages, the number of times you wake up during the night and the total duration of sleep. I’m addicted to checking how much sleep I’ve had! It’s useful to know exactly what time I go to bed too as I always used to guess before! You can also set a silent alarm using the Withings app so you’ll be alerted with vibrations at your desired time. A much more pleasant way to wake up than loud iPhone jingles!
Besides the activity and sleep tracking, Activité Pop has some really clever functions which make it stand out from the crowd. For example, the watch syncs to your smartphone to always display the correct time so no need to worry about resetting the time after a flight! And you don’t need to charge it either because the battery lasts for 8+ months. Genius!
Overall, if you want an activity tracker that’s easy to use but looks good, I’d recommend the Withings Activité Pop.
