Little Mistress grey suede skirt and messy braids

Now that the weather is finally warming up, I’ve ditched the trousers and become acquainted with skirts again. It feels amazing to get my pins out after covering them up for months!

This Little Mistress skirt makes a nice change to my usual ASOS and Zara numbers. I love the light grey suede as it’s such a versatile colour and can be worn all year round. I’d team it with black tights and boots in the winter and bare legs with flat sandals in the summer. As you can see here, I’ve gone for bare legs and ankle boots for a cute, transitional look. I don’t feel ready for sandals yet!

At first, I was unsure about the fit because the skirt is quite loose and I’m used to wearing more fitted styles. But after wearing it for a few hours, I realised that it’s the most comfortable skirt I’ve ever owned! It’s lightweight, stretchy and doesn’t feel restrictive at all. I really like the detailing on the pockets too – it’s pretty without being fussy.

I’ve paired the skirt with a Zara black leather jacket and a Zara black jumper to keep the outfit simple. I bought the jacket a few months ago and I’m trying to keep it for selected occasions rather than everyday wear. Unlike my other biker style leather jackets, this one has a smarter and more sophisticated vibe to it.

As for my hair, I’ve gone for messy braids which is my new favourite style. It’s so easy and takes seconds to do! I just braid my hair really loosely and then pull them apart for a casual “I just got out of bed” vibe. I have to admit, it’s hard to keep it that way though. The perfectionist in me has to resist tidying them up! I have to remember: the messier, the better.

What do you think of my look? Let me know!
