There are many things I love about blogging but being invited to review beautiful spas is certainly a perk. My most recent visit was to Thai Square Spa in London.
Before I tell you all about it, please note that the images I’ve included are courtesy of Thai Square Spa. I usually take my own images but the Spa is quite dark inside so my photos don’t do it justice! So a huge thanks to the Spa for letting me use their images to show you how gorgeous it really is!
On arrival, I was shown to the changing room which was bright red with sparkly walls (they definitely brightened up a rainy day!) and fully equipped with roomy showers and decent sized lockers. I was given a huge white robe, towel and flip-flops then taken downstairs to the Spa. On a side note, they had a variety of shoe sizes and I liked that they gave actual flip-flops and not those strange papery sandals that you throw away afterwards. It’s a minor detail but it pleased me.
Anyway, the Spa itself is designed to be a tranquil and peaceful environment and has an eclectic mix of Thai, Roman and Turkish spa décor. As I’ve mentioned, it is quite dark but candles and spotlights all add to the chilled vibe. I noticed that it was also very calm and quiet. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the City. In fact, I found it hard to believe that I was in London and not a faraway retreat!
Before my treatment, I had around 30 minutes to enjoy the Sen Space, where I alternated my time between the hot (sauna and steam room) and cold zones (ice fountain and Jacuzzi) to help circulate circulation and eliminate toxins. It was a great way to get my Spa experience started!
Then, it was time for my massage. There are many treatments available but personally, I love having massages as they feel like a proper treat. I had the “Ritual” massage which combines various Oriental massage techniques using essential oils. It was definitely the firmest massage I’ve ever had but one of the best. The therapist was so professional and thorough! It was just so relaxing, I think I dozed off a couple of times!
After the massage I spent some time in the private relaxation room, which was wonderful! I didn’t feel the need to rush off and get changed – the therapists made me feel very welcome and kept bringing me dainty cups of camomile tea, which was a really nice gesture. Again, minor details but all much appreciated.
Overall, visiting Thai Square Spa was a heavenly experience. I went in feeling like I needed TLC and left feeling renewed and restored. The facilities were first-class, the treatment was nothing short of luxury and the therapists were fantastic. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
