Autumn styling; getting cosy in jumper dresses

When it comes to Autumn, I can get on board with the hot drinks, comfort food, crunchy leaves and staying in (my 18-year-old self wouldn’t know me anymore!). However, if there’s one thing I cannot cope with, it’s being cold.

So, the best thing I can do during these chilly months is stock on knitwear to keep me snug. While we’re not in minus temperatures yet, I’m making the most of jumper dresses.

I absolutely love jumper dresses because you can just throw them on and you’re done. They’re warm and comfortable but don’t sacrifice on style.

Missguided jumper dress
Dress, Missguided. Jacket, Zara. Boots, Ego.

I ordered this one from Missguided because I loved the colour and cable stitch design. I also liked that it was a chunky knit so I could wear a top underneath when it gets really cold.

Here, I’ve teamed it with my Zara leather jacket and Ego over-the-knee boots for a cosy yet casual look. I’d probably wear tights and a thicker coat as the season goes on but for now, it’s perfect.

I thought it was very reasonably priced at £28 and the quality is much better than I thought it would be. It comes in khaki and a toffee colour too which would be great additions to my A/W wardrobe.

Next, I’ve gone for this little black number (typical!) from Miss Selfridge. Again, it’s a chunky knit but as it’s off the shoulder, I would more likely wear it to an evening occasion rather than an every day outing.

For example, going out for dinner when I can’t be bothered to go full-glam but I want to look as if I’ve made a bit of an effort. Or even a laid-back Christmas party (yes, I’m that girl who would wear knitwear to party haha!).
