As much as I’m an advocate of British style, nothing can be compared to French style. The women (and men!) of this stylish country are at the top of their game when it comes to dressing. They’re just so effortless and chic!
Seeing as I love the French attitude to getting dressed, I thought I’d incorporate some Parisian style into my own wardrobe. When I think of French style, I instantly think of stripes so this frill top from Topshop is ideal for adding a touch of Parisian chic.
I love the stripes and the frill detail. But what really stood out to me was the French wording embroidered on the front. It says “Toujours dans mon coeur”, which means “Always in my heart” if my GCSE French is correct!
With its long sleeves, the top is perfect for fresh spring days when you need more than a t-shirt but it’s too warm for a jumper! I just wish I had a beige trench to complete the outfit, I’ve been meaning to invest in one for years. Perhaps I’ll hold out for a Burberry one (one day).
I’ve paired the top with these mid blue Jamie jeans, which have made a refreshing change to my usual black jeans. It’s nice to mix things up a bit – I wear black jeans far too much. I’m hoping to wear different coloured denim a lot more this season!
When it comes to footwear, I feel that ballet pumps or flats are typically ‘French’. However, I’m not really a flat shoe kind of girl so I’ve gone for high heels. They make me feel more confident and if it’s one thing that French ladies rock, it’s confidence. C’est magnifique!
