As the weather is finally warming up, I’ve been making the most of loose, floaty dresses. They’re the type of dresses which you can throw on and get on with the day. And let’s face it, everyone loves an easy outfit! As much as I love getting ready, sometimes I just want to head out the door.
I used to steer clear of anything with a ‘relaxed fit’ for fear of swamping my small frame. But after trying a few styles on, I’ve found that loose dresses do suit me. They make a nice change from the fitted dresses I’d normally go for. And if they’re from the petite range, even better!
This dress is by Glamorous Petite. To be honest, I had no idea Glamorous had a petite range but I’m not complaining! I’m a big fan of brands who have collections for us little (but totally sassy) gals. It saves me a fortune in alterations!
It would be ideal for a festival with Western ankle boots. But since I’m not going to any this year, I’m going to wear it to the beach, brunch with the girls and lazy style days when I need to get out of the house ASAP.
As you can see, the fabric is quite sheer but nothing that nude underwear can’t sort out. I really like the swing style and ruffle hem too. It gives me serious bohemian vibes and makes me feel like Lana Del Rey at a Californian beach house. I wish!
In keeping with the laid-back look, I’ve kept everything else simple. My hair is tousled and lightly backcombed while my make-up is bronzed and glowy. Tan, bronzer and highlighter were key for this look, I use Benefit Hoola and Urban Decay Afterglow powder in Sin. It’s a gorgeous champagne gold colour!
What are your thoughts on the bohemian vibes?
I love how floaty this dress is, it definitely has the bohemian festival vibes. Glamorous isn’t a brand I’ve looked at very much.
