May Bank Holiday; Resting and recharging

I’m the sort of girl who loves being busy. I can’t help it! I like to-lists, getting stuff done and the sense of achievement that comes with having a productive day. But when it comes to a bank holiday, I make the most of having some down time.

As bank holidays don’t count as annual leave, I think of them as ‘free’ days off. So I don’t feel the pressure to be productive. I always feel like I need to be busy on my normal days off! But bank holidays don’t count.

Bank Holiday Weekend

So far, I’ve done lots of shopping, eating and resting. Since the sun has made an appearance, I’ve been stocking up on stylish summer pieces. Lots of pretty playsuits, ditsy tea dresses and cute tops to pair with shorts and smart trousers for the warmer nights.

Top discounts on the White Company products

I’ve also been updating my pyjama drawer. It’s time to say goodbye to cosy flannels and fleece and hello to cotton, jersey and lace! There are some gorgeous sets from The White Company. They look simple but super-comfortable. What’s more, I’ve found plenty of discount codes on Groupon to save some money. Does that mean I can spend more on brunch?!

Smoothie bowls and matcha lattes

Luckily, I live near some amazing cafes so going for brunch has not been a problem. I’ve been three times in the space of three days! And I’m going again on Bank Holiday Monday. This is the life! They’re all within walking distance too so I can leave the car at home and catch some rays.

It’s also been nice to just sit in the garden and relax. Instead of being glued to my phone, I’ve painted my nails, listened to music and read a book. It’s taken me ages to get back into reading proper books again (I blame social media apps!) so I’m hoping I can keep it up.

That’s my Bank Holiday so far. Bring on Monday! Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.
