Hello all!
I brought out the glitz on the weekend in the form of this nude and gold sequin co-ord from Miss Selfridge. I chose the combo because they made a refreshing change from a dress but were still glamorous.
I wore this outfit for a night out with my friend Jodie, who I met on my first day as an undergraduate at university six years ago (can’t believe it was that long ago – argh!). We went to a great little bar called Bar 44 in Cowbridge for a couple of cocktails and didn’t stop talking! The drinks menu was fabulous, I was drawn to the beetroot and vanilla daiquiri immediately because it sounded so unusual but delicious – right up my street.
I thought that the co-ord looked great teamed with my nude nails and black courts – what do you think? I also opted for a black leather clutch to add some contrast to the nude and gold tones but you can’t see the bag here. The co-ord was a perfect outfit for a few cocktails on a Saturday night.
I went for soft waves in my hair but unfortunately they’ve gone a little flat here. My hair is naturally poker straight so holding a curl is a real struggle. I’ve read that styling mousse is good to help curls last though so I’ll be trying that next weekend. If anyone knows of any root-boosting products too, please share your wisdom! I do blow-dry my hair upside down and I have layers but my roots still go flat quickly. I wish I could backcomb as well as the hairdressers do!
I kept my make-up simple with defined eyes and bronzed skin. I didn’t want to overdo it as the sequins were enough of a statement,
Would you wear the top and skirt together like I have done or separately?
