McArthurGlen Christmas shopping

Now that the nights are drawing in, there is a chill in the air and December is fast approaching, I’ve started to think about what to buy my loved ones for Christmas.

Over 90 designer brands and high street names (mostly!) under one roof.

I don’t usually start my Christmas shopping until December but when McArthur Glen invited me to take part in the Gift Hunter Challenge, I couldn’t say no. The Bridgend outlet is only 30 minutes away from where I live and the fact that most of the shops are under cover is a bonus – no need to worry about the rain!

At McArthurGlen, you’ll find your favourite designer brands for 30% to 60% less, across a fabulous range of clothing, accessories and footwear. There’s really something for everyone!

I chose a black Berghaus jacket for my dad as he’s been looking for a practical coat for a while. I thought this was just the thing his wardrobe needed! It was £91 but the RRP was £125 so it was good to save a few pounds!

My mum has a white gold watch for special occasions so I thought that I’d get her a casual watch to wear on an everyday basis. I chose a lovely style by Fossil because it was a nice size with a simple design. It was originally £105 but I had it for £50. I also bought her a tan leather purse from Fossil which was £55 reduced to £25. What a bargain!

My boyfriend Phil has a thing for trainers so I picked up a pair of black and white Vans sneakers for £31 to add to his ever-growing collection. I’ve paid £50 for similar pairs in the past so it was nice to get them for less! I also bought him a Marc Jacobs watch from Watch Station, which I was really pleased with as it was only £100 but looks far more expensive.

Of course, I couldn’t leave without treating myself to a couple of goodies so I picked up a beautiful floral cup from Portmeirion for £5.50. I couldn’t resist a watch either so I chose a gorgeous style by Marc Jacobs with a tan leather strap. I’ve been wearing the same Gucci watch for years (an 18th birthday gift from my dad) so I felt like a change. What’s more, it was only £80 so didn’t break the bank.
