Take the stress out of planning your Christmas and NYE looks by embracing these 5 style tips for the party season.

1. Sparkle in sequins

The best thing about sequins is that they make you look party-ready without even trying. Go for a classic sequin dress, team an embellished skirt with a roll neck jumper or try skinny sequinned trousers with a grey marl tee, tuxedo jacket and pointed courts for a killer statement look.

2. The eyes have it

Eyeshadow is a great way to add a little something extra, especially if you don’t wear it very often. Stick to neutral hues if you’re not confident in applying but if you want to rock a bolder look, experiment with vibrant colours and shimmery shades. Just add liner and lashings of mascara!

3. Stay warm in style

No outfit is complete without a few finishing touches and a cover-up is one of them. And they don’t have to spoil your outfit either! Toughen up a LBD with a leather biker jacket, throw on a faux fur coat for instant glamour or keep things simple with a smart blazer.

4. Be a glow-getter

It is pointless spending time and effort on your make-up if your skin isn’t looking its best. Be sure to drink plenty of water, exfoliate a couple of days before the big night and use a good moisturiser daily to keep your complexion glowing. For extra radiance, apply a tinted primer underneath your foundation and finish with a light-reflecting powder.

5. Don’t forget your nails!

Scruffy nails can easily ruin an amazing outfit. My top tip is to have a manicure (salon or DIY) in advance and paint on a glitter topcoat when it starts to chip. It’s such an easy way to prolong your mani and looks gorgeous at this time of year. And if you’re pushed for time, glitter polishes are great on their own because they dry really quickly!
